His Marvelous Light

Christopher has been learning about light in school the past two weeks.  In Science he’s learning the different types: translucent, transparent, and opaque.  He’s learned about shadows, shades, and tints.  The above picture is by Claude Monet, the artist he’s been studying and making paintings and drawings after.  Light.  At the same time of Christopher’s education, I have been having my own.

My eyes have beheld the early light of days beginning sooner than before.  I watch as the tulips awaken in the light; as they lean into the light.  I am reminded of how I truly come alive in His Light, and how He longs for me to lean into Him.

I watch as they lean…then open up in the Light.  Could that be me; could the world see the beauty of Him as I open-display His splendor?  Could I bring beauty into the mundane…on a dusty counter top beside dirt covered potatoes in front of a smudged window pane…

…Among a too-often-empty cake plate…as I prepare plates of boxed-mix pancakes…

…on a crippled, paint-chipped chair…

…on a worn 30 some dollar table…

…to the face of a “Grace-Child”…

Could I SEE His Light everywhere?  BRING His Light everywhere?  BEAR His Light everywhere?  If the flowers, the cake plates, the pancakes, the tables, the chairs, and the Child can…can I?

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light… John 3:21

He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light. John 12:36

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. John 12:46

I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me. Acts 26:17-18

He is the Light.  He lives in me.  Am I being opaque (not letting Light in), translucent (letting only some Light through), or transparent (letting all Light shine through)?

More gifts that have LIGHT my path these last days…
