How’s your rest? Are your nights fretful? Your days a haze? Your mornings a blur? Your evenings nonstop? How long since your shoulders relaxed, your head stopped spinning and aching, and your feet were propped up? It takes a lot more will to stop the fight – the rat race – than it does to be still. Would you be willing…to obey?
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31 NIV
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 NIV
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3 NIV
26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Linking up here for the weekend. Get some rest, Sweet Friends!
